Kenneth 'Babyface' Edmonds announced that he will be playing the infamous 'Waiting To Exhale' soundtrack on Sunday, May 10th in light of Mothers Day. How fitting, right? Fans are counting down the days, especially since Teddy Riley Verzus Babyface, y'all remember when Teddy tried to do the most and ended up doing nothing? Well, we get to hear more from 'Face and his genuineness and we're all excited. Now, I'm going to be honest, I was yesterday years old when I learned that Babyface was the mastermind behind this black music collection staple. I was only four when the 'Waiting To Exhale' soundtrack was released and probably couldn't read the album if I wanted to. But my ears worked perfectly. We all remember our mothers playing the entire album from front to back on repeat. Even today, 'Waiting To Exhale' soundtrack is one of my favorite albums of all times and certainly the soundtrack to my love life. Whitney Houston (also starred in the 1995 film) worked closely with Babyface on the 'Waiting To Exhale' soundtrack and also had a say in the decision to make the soundtrack an all famale album to match the theme of the movies staring cast members. The album featured artists Toni Braxton, Brandy, Mary J. Blidge, Patti LaBell, and Aretha Franklin to name a few. The single 'Exhale (Shoop Shoop)' was Whitney Houston's last number one hit.
